WESTON WALKERS GROUP

Great Tew in 2010
The group began when a couple of people who happen to be members of the WI initially thought that they would like to walk the local footpaths but as soon as the idea was formed the Foot and Mouth outbreak put all footpaths out of bounds.
The idea was revived again in 2009 and an open invitation was given out. Both men and women showed an interest, so when the weather allowed, several walks took place starting from the village hall.
This year the weather has been kind to us and all planned walks have taken place. A different person acts as a "leader" each time and they choose the walk which is between 4 and 6 miles in length.
The group has now grown to 20+, with half of them being WI members. We like to think that if we have found something good we are happy to share it. We still meet at the Village Hall but those with a car are asked to bring it in case we need transport to a different start point.
Most walks will begin at 1.30pm at Weston Village Hall , but, a morning walk (with a pub lunch) may occasionally be planned. Notices around the village during the previous week will always give the relevant information. The walks are always on the second Monday of each month.
Our First walk 2012 will be February 13th.
A local walk of 3-5 miles
Anyone is welcome to come along.
