Weston on the Green Craft Group
All are welcome, whether or not you sew, paint on silk or whatever.
The high standard of Craft work that is produced by the WI members for exhibitions and competitions can seem very daunting to those who just dabble for their own pleasure. We are fortunate to have a core of creative members who enjoy sharing their pleasure and expertise with those who are not quite so talented and we meet monthly in the Village Hall to do just that. There is no strict format (though there is always a cup of tea) and any art or craft can be brought along. We have the occasional extra workshop with an experienced teacher, either to try something completely different, or to improve on something that we have already tried. Although begun by WI members the group is open to anyone who would like to come along to be "crafty" with others of the like mind.
Meetings usually on the 2nd monday of the month at 2pm in the Village Hall, there are no meetings in August and December. Bring your own UFO's maybe someone can help you over a hump and get the project moving again. If you need to bring supplies for a particular meeting we will let you know the month before.

Pictured below are examples of Gift Boxes and Gift Bags that were made at the Silk Painting Workshop held in April 2011

In October we had a Parchment Workshop where we learnt how to colour the parchment using felt tip pens. For some of our members it was a first time introduction to this craft. We made several cards and a very simple but lovely gift box.
